“one of the most experienced Gestalt psychotherapists working in the UK”

I am Peggy Sherno. I've been a psychotherapist for over 25 years and registered since the inception of the UKCP.

Gestalt is an integrative approach and adapts to both long and short term work with a wide variety of presenting issues. You can read more about it here.

I work in Hitchin in Hertfordshire.

I work with a wide spectrum of people over the age of 18 and I'm one of the most experienced Gestalt therapists currently working in the UK.

I was a founder director of the Gestalt Centre in London where I worked for over 20 years until I retired in 2001. I was instrumental, with fellow colleagues, in developing and delivering one of the first formalised humanistic training courses in London . The course now teaches Gestalt Psychotherapy to MA level and is a gateway to UKCP Registration.

I continue to teach occasionally and to do assessment of student work for the Centre.

For many years I have been interested in Buddhist psychology and practice and find these very important supports in my work. I study within the Tibetan traditions, principally the Kagyu.

I have regular supervision, at present with two different supervisors to widen the scope.

Until recently I was a supervisor for the Hitchin Counselling Service, a local voluntary counselling organisation founded 15 years ago.

I comply with the appropriate code of ethics and practice required UKCP registration. I hold professional insurance as required.
